Workflow Enhancements and Mammography Tools Major Focus of Avreo’s Version 6 Release

Charleston, SC, July 26, 2011–Avreo is pleased to announce the version 6.0 release of its family of single database, single application radiology workflow solutions, which includes interVIEW PACS, interWORKS RIS/PACS, interPRISE enterprise RIS/PACS, interORTHO PACS for orthopedics, and interDAYHAWK PACS for radiology reading groups. Major enhancements include workflow improvements for interpreting physicians, mammography enhancements, and other general enhancements. Avreo’s innovative interCONNECT zero-impact install technology simplifies the upgrade process for customers who use version 4.6 or higher. After the upgrade is completed on the Avreo server, all workstations, local or remote, automatically receive the upgrade without any installation. This technology minimizes the maintenance and IT expenses associated with a traditional upgrade process.

To further enhance interpreting physician workflow, version 6 introduces Queue for Viewing worklist management and AutoCompare rules to automate the selection of relevant prior studies. Queue for Viewing eliminates the need for interpreting physicians to repeatedly return to the worklist to choose the next study to load. At the start of a reading session, interpreting physicians can add studies to their viewing queue from a central worklist. Then, Avreo automatically loads the next study in the viewing queue when the interpreting physician marks a study as dictated. Queue for Viewing can also retrieve study images in the background to minimize delays for reading over lower bandwidth networks. To compliment Queue for Viewing, interpreting physicians can now establish AutoCompare rules to automatically load prior studies for comparison based on the modality and description of the active study.

For healthcare organizations who prefer to read mammography studies within Avreo, version 6 offers a number of enhancements for mammography reading including:

• Region Zoom tool to navigate large, high resolution images at a 1:1 zoom ratio in viewable segments using a predefined viewing pattern.
• Configurable series descriptions to position unlabeled series according to layout preferences.
• Support for new window/level standards recently appearing in mammography workflow.
• Same Size Zoom to display images at the same relative physical size regardless of whether the images were acquired on different detectors with different imaging properties.
• Consistent Scale Zoom to display images at configurable zoom ratios via keystroke or menu.
• Improved overlay text positioning based on image content to avoid obscuring the imaging content.
• Enhanced visibility of thumbnail and overlay text on very high resolution monitors.

For healthcare organizations with a high volume of specialized mammography reading, Avreo continues to offer tight integration with Hologic’s mammography software. Using this connectivity, Avreo manages the reading workflow and worklists associated with mammography studies. When an interpreting physician chooses a mammography study from the Avreo worklist, the study images automatically load in the Hologic viewer.

Version 6 also includes a variety of general enhancements including critical notes designation to manage orders with critical results, peer review connectivity, cancellation worklists to reschedule appointments with ease, improved overlay text to support ACR accreditation submission requirements for CT and MR studies, Frame Rate keystrokes to increase and decrease the speed of Cine clips, and much more. In addition, specialty cardiology, advanced visualization, and mammography tracking are available upon request to further extend the capabilities of the Avreo viewer.
